How this site pays for itself
NYC on Budget is free for you: no subscription, no account, no paywall. It is a small, independent project and does not belong to any travel company.
We earn money in exactly one way. Some buttons are marked “Ad”. If you book a flight, a bed or a ticket through one of them, or order a travel card, the provider pays us a commission. You do not pay a cent more.
The commission does not decide what goes into your plan. The plan is calculated from your budget by fixed rules, not by what earns us the most. Most of what we recommend is free and earns us nothing: the Brooklyn Bridge, the Staten Island Ferry, Central Park. You can just as well book everything directly with the provider or elsewhere.
